Hatchway and side door covers

Hatchway and side port covers (watertight doors) are intended for watertighting or sealing shipboard spaces. Side ports are used for freight handling and as a passenger entryway.

The following types of watertight doors are kinematically distinguished: removable, hinged, trammed, sliding and coiling. Some of watertight doors can have several kinematic features.

Mechanically operated hatch covers slide along the side coamings by means of caster wheels.

Watertight doors are supplied with hydraulical or electro-mechanical drive for closing/opening.

Waterproofing of all the mechanically operated hatch covers is achieved by rubber seals placed on cover panel edges and joints.

Rubber seals are pressed to the next hatch sealing straps or to the sealing strips on supporting profile.
